Legacy SM130 Compatible: 13.56 MHz RFID Reader DIP Module

The SM130-M2 is a 28-pin DIP type adapter/converter module that integrates with the SM5211-SMD to ensure compatibility with the legacy, first-generation SM130 Mifare® Module. It supports the same communication interfaces and command set as the original SM130 module by running the compatible firmware version. However, SM130-M2 is exclusively offered only for existing designs, not available for new projects.

Migration

For new projects, we recommend exploring the 13.56 MHz RFID modules: SM5210-MINI (MINI20 package), SM5211-SMD (SMD20 package), and SM5212-uSMD (uSMD20 package). As a commitment to long-term availability and support, the SM130-M2 is exclusively offered for existing designs and is not available for new projects. We encourage the adoption of new package type modules for future designs to leverage the latest advancements in manufacturing and availability.

Standardized Packages for Versatility

Sonmicro has standardized RFID modules with MINI20, SMD20, and uSMD20 package types, offering advantages such as pin-to-pin compatibility with cross-field modules between 125 kHz RFID and 13.56 MHz RFID Modules.

For surface-mount applications, consider the SM5211-SMD or SM5212-uSMD modules, which feature SMD pads suitable for automated assembly.

For plug-and-play usage, the SM5210-MINI features 2.0 mm pitch low-profile pin headers, making it easy to integrate into your designs with compatible sockets on the motherboard.

SM5211-SMD

Measuring 2.2 x 2.0 cm, the SM5211-SMD is a compact surface-mount module that offers the same functionality as the SM130-M2, suitable for automated assembly processes.

SM5212-uSMD

The SM5212-uSMD module is an ultra-compact surface-mount option, measuring just 1.5 x 1.5 cm, ideal for space-constrained applications that offer the same functionality as the SM130-M2, suitable for automated assembly processes.

SM5210-MINI

The SM5210-MINI is a 2.2 x 2.0 cm module with 2.0 mm pitch low-profile pin headers, making it easy to integrate into your designs with compatible sockets on the motherboard. Functionalities are identical to the SM130-M2, with the only difference being the form factor.
